DIY Dip-Dyed/Ombre shorts

Good evening everyone!! This past weekend, I completed my first DIY fashion clothing project: DIY Dip-Dyed/Ombre shorts. I read a couple instructions of how to do this online. But I didn't really measure anything. Like how many cups of water, bleach or dye to put in, I just used my eyes and determined what was enough.

Below are pictures and instructions of how to complete your own DIY Project

Items needed:
1. A bucket (maybe 2)
2. Bleach
3. Rubber gloves
Optional:
4. RIT fabric dye (choose any color)

What to do:
1. Fill the bucket with boiling/hot water
(fill it only a couple inches. maybe 1 or 2 depending what length you want to dye the shorts)

2. Add bleach. Maybe 2 cups?
(*Warning* too little bleach, too much water = longer for color to dye)

3. Dip the shorts in the bleach mixture to make them lighter
(Process will depend on the amount of bleach and water ratio. This may take a couple minutes)

4. When you're done bleaching the shorts to your desired color, dip them in another bucket filled with cold water to stop the bleaching process and get the bleach out.

At this stage you have completed your Dip-Dyed/Ombre shorts!!!
The next step (5) is optional...Adding color
5. In a separate bucket, fill it with hot water and the fabric dye. Fill it only an inch or 2 of the bucket. You don't need to put too much dye. A couple of drops will do.

6. Dip the shorts into the colored dye, wait a couple seconds and then you're done!!!!

Hang your newly made colored shorts to dry and in a couple hours, you'll have a new pair of shorts you made yourself :]

This is a super easy project. It just takes a lot of time and preparation. Hope you guys have fun with this! It's a fun summer arts and crafts project to do.

Easy Breezy

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic Fourth of July!!! I for one enjoyed my day off, but it just sucked that it was in the middle of the week...would've preferred if it was on a Friday, but let's not complain, a day off is a day off.

Today's post is going to be super quick.

All the apparel pieces I'm wearing was all borrowed from my best friend and new roommate. Big thanks to her, I now have another closet to raid! Too bad I've gained some weight, so some of her clothes are a little tight, but it gives me motivation to go and workout!

What I'm wearing:
Jacket: Abercrombie & Fitch (borrowed)
Dress: Abercrombie & Fitch (borrowed)
Heels: thrifted at Crossroads Trading Co.
Accessories: Forever21

It's almost Friday! Let's hang in there!

Flower appropriate

Happy Tuesday everyone! I don't know about you, but I thought today was Friday. It must be because tomorrow is 4th of July and I have the day off.

The weather in SF is so up and down. In the morning is super cold and then in the afternoon it gets hot. So finding a comfortable outfit is challenging in the morning.

What I find appropriate and trendy is a midi (shorter maxi dress) flower skirt. Its great for the cold morning weather because it fully covers my legs and still keeps me somewhat warm and it's also light enough to enjoy the afternoon sun. In the morning, I covered up with my mint green blazer and took it off later in the day for the hot weather.

How I wore my Midi flower skirt:
Paired it with a simple white top, accessorized with my peach statement necklace, teal sunglasses and aquamarine colored kate spade watch, and my thrifted vintage Dooney & Burke handbag

Naya Rivera and I have the same necklace!!

Happy Monday Everyone! So my fellow blogger Barrie from one quirky peach, was kind enough to tell me that Naya Rivera was wearing a necklace very similar to my peach statement necklace on The Glee Project (the sexuality episode). I couldn't find a good shot of the necklace because most of it is under her shirt, but it looks super similar to the statement necklace I got from H&M.

Pretty cool!!!
Naya River plays Santana on the super popular show Glee! I love that show and I also love The Glee Project. It's so funny, the one day I miss an episode, is the one day I have something in common with a character haha

The beautiful Naya <3

Down to Business Monday

Good afternoon everyone, so how was your Monday? For me, Mondays are the hardest days. It's the start of my work week and after the weekend off, I just want to stay in bed for another hour...maybe 2.

I decided to dress up for work and I've had this outfit in mind for the longest time. Of course, I'm wearing my signature teal sunglasses, but in some pictures I decided not to wear them. I also started to take close-ups of my top and bottom.

I am in love with the bag. I purchased it from Crossroads Trading Co. along with another purse, both are vintage Dooney & Burke purses. Whether they are real or not are still in question, but the quality feels pretty real to me. I didn't even have to use my own money! I brought a bag of clothes to sell and got store credit which I used to purchase the purses. I even got $8.13 cents back! Thanks Crossroads for my amazing additions to my closet.

Flowers, Teal and Sheer

Hello everyone! Today is such a hot day, summer has arrived. This will be a super quick blog post since I'm leaving to go bowling soon. Wearing flower print shorts, its a spring/summer staple for your wardrobe. I like how the print is subtle yet noticeable. I paired it with a sheer long sleeve blouse with a white tank top, teal sunglasses and matching shoulder purse and with ankle wedge booties

Enjoy the sun!! Summer is here!!!
